Performance Groups

Performance Is For Everyone!

ANYONE Can Be A Performance Group Dancer!

Only half of being a dancer is what you learn in class, the other half is made up of the experiences you have on stage. Our 3 Performance Groups are an extension of our program where dancers learn leadership skills, build confidence, promote community awareness and show compassion for others. All dancers that participate in our performance groups will get the opportunity to participate in their own Showcase performance at the end of the season.

 Crossroads Irish Dance Troupe

Our  Troupe is a staged performance company for our students within the Crossroads school. This experience offers Crossroads students the opportunity to continue their training further in performance dance. This group performs at some local community events, but also exclusive opportunities to dance on professional stages and venues as well as, private and corporate events.

These dancers learn multiple choreographed pieces of which are based around Irish culture and legends. It is through the dedication of excellence and their performance that they give more awareness and education of Irish culture, dance and music to their community.
Being a member is a tremendous learning opportunity and an experience that dancers remember forever.

Crossroads Troupe captivates audiences with a combination of talented, high energy dancers featuring that fuses both traditional and contemporary Irish dance choreography and music together into a unique and "on the edge of your seat" performance.. From the grace of our jigs to  heart pounding rhythm and beats, Crossroads strives to leave audiences wanting more.

 Performance Class

Our performance class is open to our dancers in our Journey and Academy program. This class is an excellent addition to a dancer's curriculum as they will get the opportunity to be introduced to Irish dance

This group meets 1x a week for 30 minutes to learn and rehearse their dance. It is a wonderful opportunity for dancers looking to dance and perform more and those interested in one day being on the Crossroads Troupe. It is also a great option for dancers who may not be able to commit Troupe but still want a performance opportunity.

 Adult Ceili Group

Our Adult Ceili Group is an extension of our Adult class. and is open to any of our Adult dancers.  The best way to enhance the social aspect of dance while getting fitness and having fun. This group meets 1x a week for 30 minutes conveniently in between the Adult classes on Monday nights. Our  adults receive the opportunity to expand their Irish dance repertoire with learning traditional Ceili's that have been past down through Irish history.

Irish ceili dancing is the traditional group dancing native to Ireland, first taught by tradition and then, in 1939, put into writing by the Irish dancing commission.  The dances we teach are those generations-old dances handed down through the years, as well as newly developed original choreography.

“These dances are the essentially the dances of Ireland,” American folk dance ethnologist Elizabeth Burchenal explained in her 1925 publication “Rinnci na h-Éireann: National Dances of Ireland.” The book pre-dates the formation of the Irish dancing commission and documents 25 dances, including nine dances that don’t appear in Ar Rinci Ceili.
